Buying Guide & Selection Tips

When choosing the PA163 Full Mortise Lock for cigar humidors or wooden boxes, consider:

Box Size & Lid Design
- For medium cigar humidors and boxes, one PA163 is usually sufficient.
- For larger or heavier lids, ensure hinge hardware is also upgraded to match the lock’s performance.
Security Level
- Choose keyed versions for cigar humidors, watch boxes, and high‑value collector’s cases.
- Non‑keyed or simple latch versions may be sufficient for gift boxes or general storage.
Material & Finish Matching
- Polished brass pairs perfectly with classic cigar humidors in walnut, mahogany, or cherry.
- Nickel or chrome works well with modern, bright designs and lighter wood tones.
- Antique brass / bronze is ideal for vintage or retro‑style humidors and boxes.
- Coordinate the lock finish with hinges, corner protectors, handles, and feet to create a unified appearance.
Mortise Size & Wood Thickness
- Confirm lock body dimensions against the front panel thickness of the humidor or box.
- Ensure enough remaining wood around the mortise to keep the structure strong.
- Use CNC routers, jigs, or accurate templates for repeatable, efficient mass production.
Production Volume & Branding
- For large orders, we can support fixed specifications, consistent finishes, and export packaging.
- For small studios or custom brands, sample orders and flexible MOQ help with testing and design development.
- OEM logo on packaging or lock components can enhance brand identity.
